Already time to wrap-up another year. In fact, I'm a little late. Seems to go by faster every time!

It was another good year of positive moves and growth, but there always seems to be plenty more work to do on the horizon.

Still eating as cleanly as possible, keeping active (walked another 1,500 miles), and trying to get a good amount of sleep (avg ~6h). The kiddos got various scooters, roller skates, and roller blades for Christmas, so I may be tempted to keep up, get some skates for my birthday, and channel my inner Hal.

Started TRF (Time-Restricted Feeding) in January and have kept that up pretty consistently throughout the year. I never really enjoyed breakfast and only did it for awhile there because I thought it was something I had to do to "eat right." Luckily, that was inaccurate. I eat between 11:30 in the morning until no later than 10:30 at night (but usually earlier).

Switched to Android.

Started learning Esperanto using DuoLingo and a few other web resources. Ĝi iras bone. Mi havas longan vojaĝon.

Stopped using ibuprofen and derivatives. Stopped using heartburn medication. Stopped needing heartburn medication. Never got around to filling my migraine prescription. Never really needed it. Had very few, less than one handful, that called for it, but I opted to sleep instead when I had the chance.

Girls did move to TX and got settled in. Elora is going to Allen HS as a sophomore. Arilyn is done with that and looking at options, possibly art school. It's been great having them nearby again and getting to see them so often. The little ones love it, too.

I managed to get Arilyn hooked on Sabaton! So much so that she's in the process of learning Swedish. We're looking forward to the next time they come to town (or nearby)!

Elora has gotten interested in programming and we're both interested in Python, so we're going to be learning more about that together this year. I've continued to learn a great deal about PowerShell in 2018, but I'm ready for something new.

Unfortunately lost a little over an hour a week of seeing the little ones earlier this year. After sulking a bit, I decided to start volunteering at their school and that's been a lot of fun.

Things started off spooky at work this year, continuing the saga from last year. Unfortunately we lost a lot of really good people before it began showing any signs of turning around. Got promoted at work around the middle of the year, just after my three year mark. The feeling of general uneasiness lingers and new wrenches have been thrown in the mix at the last moment. I'm remaining positive, though. We still have a strong core team and new members that bring new mentoring possibilities. They keep me sharp.

Got to see a lot of really good music this year (Nightmares On Wax, Pan-Pot, Amorphis, Dark Tranquility, Moonspell, Omnium Gatherum, The Darkening, Nine Inch Nails) and Piff the Magic Dragon again.

I'm hoping to find the place in my life where it doesn't feel like I'm behind, or at least where I don't feel rushed. So this year I'm slowing down and I'm okay with that.

Relax, it's 2019.
